DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, February 1\, 2026 | 1:00–3:00 PM | Separate Tickets Required \n\n\n\nLocation: Lan Su Office\, 38 NW Davis Street\, Suite 260 (2 blocks from garden) \n\n\n\nJoin Lan Su Chinese Garden’s Horticulture team on Saturday\, February 1\, for our annual Lunar New Year Crab-Claw Narcissus Bulb Carving Workshop. You will be provided with all necessary materials and guidance so that you can take home a carved bulb that will bloom for Lunar New Year.  \n\n\n\nYour ticket also includes admission to the garden for the day. \n\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\n\nSpace is limited to 15 spots—reserve your seat now! \n\n\n\n\nLan Su Members: $40.95\n\n\n\nMember Guests: $40.95\n\n\n\nGeneral: $47.95\n\n\n\n\nEach ticket includes a $0.95 service fee. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is the Significance of Narcissus?\n\n\n\nNarcissus\, or Shuixian (水仙)\, is an important plant for the Lunar New Year in China. The ability of narcissus to bloom with nothing but water and sunlight has led them to become associated with immortality. A special type of narcissus from Fujian Province\, termed “crab claw narcissus” (蟹爪水仙) is a subspecies whose bulblets can be carved early to distort the growth of the leaves in a visually appealing way. \n\n\n\nLearn more about these special plants in our January 2026 Hort Tidbit by Lan Su’s Curator of Horticulture\, Josie Losh. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParking & Directions\n\n\n\nFree Lan Su Parking\n\n\n\nThere is free first come\, first served parking in our sister lot next to the garden at 424 NW Third Avenue. With a music degree from the University of Oregon and a decade in HR and sales\, she followed her entrepreneurial spirit to found Floral Sunshine in 2009 after training at the Floral Design Institute.
