The ability of narcissus to bloom with nothing but water and sunlight has led them to become associated with immortality. A special type of narcissus from Fujian Province\, termed “crab claw narcissus” (蟹爪水仙) is a subspecies whose bulblets can be carved early to distort the growth of the leaves in a visually appealing way. \n\n\n\nLearn more about these special plants in our January 2026 Hort Tidbit by Lan Su’s Curator of Horticulture\, Josie Losh. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParking & Directions\n\n\n\nFree Lan Su Parking\n\n\n\nThere is free first come\, first served parking in our sister lot next to the garden at 424 NW Third Avenue.
