Dear Friends of Lan Su,
In full compliance of Governor Kate Brown’s statewide freeze announced on Friday November 13, 2020, Lan Su Chinese Garden, the Garden shop, and the Teahouse will temporarily close from Wednesday, November 18 for the next four weeks.
Like many of you, we want nothing more than to stay open; however, the safety of our community always comes first. Lan Su, like many other organizations in Oregon, must do our part to slow the spread of the virus and protect our staff, members, volunteers, and visitors.
During this temporary closure, all reserved tickets between November 19 to December 15 will be refunded. Memberships will be extended for the time of the closure. Our entire staff will shift their focus to taking care of the garden for the winter, focusing on winter renovation projects and regrouping for the coming year.
Dear friends, I want to share with you this Chinese proverb I recently learned,
“Without the bitter cold winter, there can be no fragrant plum blossom coming in spring.”
This year has been more than challenging, but we know that we with your support, we will emerge stronger and more beautiful than ever. Hopefully, in the very near future, we can reopen the garden gate and welcome you back well before the first bloom of spring plum blossoms.
Stay safe and be well,
Elizabeth Nye
Executive Director
