Chrysanthemums, also referred to as mums, are flowering plants in the Asteraceae family. Cultivation of the Chrysanthemum in China dates back to the 15th century. It is one of the 'Four Gentleman' of flowers in Chinese culture and symbolic of the Confucius Scholar — known for being reclusive, blooming only in fall and its ability to stand upright in unfavorable conditions.
Featured Chrysanthemum varieties include:
Chesapeake • Jaffa • Saba • River City • Santa Clause • Pink Fleece • Feeling Green • Kelvin Mandarin • Prom Queen • Gumdrop • Seizan • Vesuvio • Vernal Falls • Karume • Pink Splendor • Wisp of Pink • Lava • Peggy Stevens • White City • Quan Yon Hung
* Credit card only (no cash). Plants are available for purchase at a first-come first-serve basis; pre-orders are not available.
*Prices subject to change.
This event takes place in the garden's entry courtyard located on the corner of NW 3rd and Everett. Admission to the garden is not required.
