Immerse yourself in the whimsical enjoyment these playful lions bring to guests of all ages as they make their way through the garden spreading good fortune.
Meet the lions up close and feed them lucky money! Help create joyful family memories for your little cubs as they get a special opportunity to pet and interact with the lions.

Meet the Lion Dance Teams
White Lotus Foundation

With a diverse team of over 40 members of all ages and backgrounds, White Lotus brings a fresh and unique perspective to a centuries-old tradition. Their mission is to preserve and promote traditional performing arts through dynamic entertainment that resonates with every generation. As the largest dragon and lion dance team in Oregon, they proudly offer vibrant and captivating performances across the Pacific Northwest.
Portland Lee’s Association

The Portland Lee’s Association Dragon & Lion Dance Team has performed at thousands of events and is in great demand for performances throughout the year. The lion dance team was founded in April 2004 and currently performs both dragon and lion dances under the direction of Head Coach Terry Lee, assisted by Coach Eric Lee and Coach Nick Lee. The group’s history, rooted in the Lee Family Association, goes all the way back to the 1880s, highlighting their deep dedication to Chinese cultural traditions.

Discounted admission of $5.00 per person is available for up to four individuals per EBT/WIC card. To claim this offer, please present your EBT/WIC card and a valid form of photo ID at the Ticket Booth.
Veterans & Military
We offer $2 off admission for active-duty military, veterans, and their immediate family members with valid ID. The discount must be redeemed in person at the Ticket Booth.

Free Lan Su Parking
There is free first come, first served parking in our sister lot next to the garden at 424 NW Third Avenue. Additional metered parking and garages are available on surrounding streets.

Yes, the lion dance performance is accompanied by drums, cymbals, and a gong. Guests with noise sensitivity may want to bring headphones or other ear protection.
Yes. Lan Su has a wheelchair accessible route that travels throughout the garden. Almost every area of the garden can be accessed by those using mobility aids, and benches are available throughout the garden. Restrooms are also fully accessible. A Universal Access Map is available at the Ticket Booth and Host Stand.
Lan Su honors complimentary entry for one caregiver of each visitor with a mobility issue necessitating an extra helping hand.
Note: The second floor of Yun Shui Teahouse is not wheelchair-friendly at this time as stairs are required for access. The first floor is still ADA accessible.
Where to watch: For a lion dance performance, your best spots are likely the Waterside Pavilion (aka Flowers Bathing in Spring Rain) or The Boathouse (aka Painted Boat in Misty Rain). We suggest avoiding bridges, as it may be difficult for the lions to get by (e.g. Double Rainbow Bridge; Zig Zag Bridge / Moon Locking Pavilion).
