Create a one-of-a-kind ceramic lotus bowl using real lotus leaves from Lan Su’s own water lotus collection. Inspired by Lan Su’s unique lotus collection and presented in celebration of Lian: The Lotus Festival, this two-part, hands-on workshop invites you to shape, imprint, glaze, and finish your own ceramic bowl with guidance from Teo Lee, Owner and Founder of Earth & Fire Ceramics.

- Thursday Class: July 30 and August 6, 2:00–4:00 PM
What’s Included
Instructed by Teo Lee, Founder and Owner of Earth & Fire Ceramics, this two-part workshop includes:
- Real lotus leaves and botanical materials gathered from Lan Su’s lotus plant collection at the garden’s Lake Zither
- Session One: Shape your ceramic bowl and create a one-of-a-kind lotus leaf impression
- Session Two: Return one week later to glaze and add color to your finished piece
- Professional kiln firing by Earth & Fire Ceramics
- All materials provided
- Two full-day admissions to Lan Su Chinese Garden, one for each workshop date
- No ceramics experience required
- Small-group setting, limited to 15 participants per class
Meet the Instructor: Teo Lee


Teo Lee brings eight years of experience working with clay, with skills in both wheel throwing and handbuilding. Mostly self-taught, he has developed a teaching and making style that is uniquely his own. His passion for sharing the joy of clay led him to open Earth and Fire Pottery Studio, a welcoming and affordable space for community, creativity, and growth. Teaching is his favorite part of operating the studio, and he is excited to partner with Lan Su Chinese Garden.

Ceramic Art In the Garden Need to Know
