Experience Overview
Experience the grace, balance, and flowing movement of traditional Yang-style Tai Chi with the Fu Shengyuan Yang-Style Tai Chi Team. This performance will feature the first 13 forms of the traditional 85-form Yang-style Tai Chi sequence, highlighting the art’s smooth transitions, controlled movement, and harmony of body and mind.
Rooted in the lineage of renowned Tai Chi master Fu Shengyuan, this demonstration offers visitors a glimpse into the depth and beauty of traditional Yang-style Tai Chi as both a martial art and a practice of balance, focus, and well-being.
About the Instructor
Jamie Homayoun began studying Tai Chi in Shanghai at a young age under Master Fu Shengyuan of the Fu family lineage. In 1982, Jamie came to the United States to pursue further studies and has since made Portland home.
For more than 20 years, Jamie has been teaching Tai Chi and yoga in the Portland area, working with students from both fitness centers and the broader community. Through teaching and community practice, Jamie continues to share the traditions, movement, and benefits of Tai Chi with students of all backgrounds and experience levels.
