Lan Su Chinese Garden and Yun Shui Teahouse are located in Portland’s historic Old Town Chinatown neighborhood. We are centrally located and easily accessible from all parts of the city by car, public transit, and by foot.

Parking
Lan Su Annex (NW 3rd & Flanders)
There is free first-come, first-served parking available at the Lan Su Annex next to the garden. The parking lot entrance is at 424 NW Third Avenue.
You can also secure your bike to the fence inside of our parking lot.
Street Parking
On-street metered parking is available around the garden at $2 per hour Monday through Saturday from 8 AM – 7 PM and Sundays from 1–7 PM. On Sunday before 1 PM and on designated holidays, on-street parking is free.
Please note: If you park at a meter, you must move your car to another block once your maximum time has expired or you will be subject to ticketing. For more information about on-street parking, please visit the City of Portland’s parking meter website.
Parking Garages
A variety of private and city parking lots are also located within a few minutes walk of the garden. One of the nearest is the 220 Building located at 220 NW 2nd Avenue (the corner of Everett Street and 2nd Avenue). Naito & Davis Parking is also four minutes walking distance from the Lan Su front gate.
Bus / Group Tour Parking
We do not offer any special parking for school buses or other large-group vehicles. Please reference the information above for our parking recommendations.
If you are parking in the neighborhood, we recommend you do not leave unnecessary valuables in your vehicle. The simplest way to protect your valuables is to keep them with you or keep them in the trunk out of sight.
Go By Public Transit
Get Here By Bus, MAX train, or Amtrak
Lan Su is easily accessible by buses and by MAX, Portland’s light rail train service. The garden is located at the Old Town Chinatown stop on the Blue and Red MAX lines and accessible by buses 1, 4, 5, 8, 10, 16, 33, 40, and 77.
To reach the garden from locations throughout the city, visit TriMet’s Trip Planner, which can provide door-to-door directions using public transit.
The garden is 1/4 mile southeast of Amtrak‘s Union Station.
Go By Bike
Ride Your Own Bicycle
If you ride your own bike, you can secure it to the fence inside of our parking lot at NW 3rd and Flanders. There are also flower shaped bike racks on Everett & 3rd around the garden.
Bikes cannot be left in the plaza or locked to exterior gates.
Rent a Bicycle
Bicycles are also available for rent by the hour or day through BIKETOWN, Portland’s bike-share system. The closest BIKETOWN station is located directly outside the garden’s east wall on NW 2nd Avenue at NW Everett St.
