The Portland Chinese Dance Troupe (PCDT) was established in 2002 and has provided summer dance workshops every year lead by Artistic Director Julie Ding. PCDT is considered a recreational dance troupe and is dedicated to performing authentic Chinese cultural dances. PCDT has performed hundreds of times throughout the Portland metropolitan area for over the past ten years
Takohachi was founded as a non-profit organization in 2007 and performing hundreds of shows since. Takohachi's repertoires are not only limited to Japanese Taiko Drums, but also using dancing, singing, Bamboo flutes, Tsugaru Shamisen and more!
Lion dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune. The lion dance is usually performed during the Chinese New Year and other Chinese traditional, cultural and religious festivals. It may also be performed at important occasions such as business opening events, special celebrations or wedding ceremonies, or may be used to honor special guests by the Chinese communities. Come join us for this exciting lion dance performance as Viet Hung Lion & Dragon Dance Team will be performing the lion dance on jongs (high poles)!
