Event Series: Mid-Autumn Festival

A Taste of Mid-Autumn: Snow-Skin Mooncake Workshop

September 26 @ 2:30 PM 3:30 PM

$22 – $39 Workshop Ticket & Admission

Experience Overview

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with a hands-on culinary experience led by Tommy Ly of GeekEasy at Lan Su Chinese Garden! Join us to learn the art of crafting no-bake snow-skin mooncakes, a contemporary, mochi-like twist on the traditional holiday pastry.

What to Expect

  • The Mochi-Style Wrapper: Learn the exact ratios and techniques to mix, knead, and dust a perfect snow-skin dough that requires absolutely no baking.
  • Classic Red Bean Filling: Master the portioning and wrapping process using a rich, sweet red bean paste, ensuring a perfect ratio of filling to skin in every bite.
  • Ready to Enjoy: Because snow-skin mooncakes are served chilled rather than baked, you will box up your finished creations to take home and enjoy immediately with family and friends.

Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dusting of flour on, as we will be mixing and pressing the dough by hand. All ingredients, gloves, and takeaway containers will be provided.

This workshop is designed for all skill levels—expect a relaxed, hands-on environment where you can get your hands messy, learn a new cultural skill, and have fun doing it!
